Gabon's digital transformation vision is based on five pillars and includes a component related to cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime.
The importance of digitalization in all areas of development is now evident. The advantages in terms of efficiency, simplicity, and productivity are proven. Unfortunately, many African countries are still lagging behind in this area. By bringing about change at the grassroots level, Gabon is positioning itself for a sustainable future where future generations will be steeped in technology and digital skills.

Gabon has invested in several initiatives, including the construction of a high-speed fiber optic network starting in 2012, the digitization of its administration, support for the digital transformation of businesses (notably through the creation of the Gabonese Digital Incubation Company – SING – in 2018, in partnership with the World Bank), and support for the growing number of young entrepreneurs launching startups. The constraints imposed by COVID-19, particularly social distancing measures, have also highlighted the need for an adaptable education system. The Ministry of Education states that the plan to digitize primary education will subsequently be extended to secondary and higher education.
