Law No. 71-2022 of August 16, 2022, concerning the awarding of the "Digital and Technological Innovation Startup" label, recently promulgated, aims to offer numerous opportunities to Congolese youth by promoting the development of startups. This represents a new step forward in promoting entrepreneurship in the Republic of Congo.

The 2023 edition of the Central African International Technology and Innovation Fair (Osiane) showcased the emergence of startups in the digital sector. The mobilization of digital stakeholders, Congolese authorities, and development partners amplified the Osiane fair's reach. Under the theme "Innovating to Progress," this networking and exchange platform on the opportunities and challenges of the digital economy aims to identify all strategic approaches that can contribute to reconciling digital technology and innovation for the sake of progress.

In April 2023, Luvick Otoka Eyenget won first prize in the Congo Basin Startup Challenge. He was recognized for his innovative project, "Kéba na gaz," a gas leak detection device. The founder of the Laboratory for Technological Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (Litia) impressed the jury with the viability of his project. The Tilia startup presented at least five gas detector prototypes: the first "Kéba na gaz" model emits beeps to alert household members once gas is detected. Its inventor has just begun the certification process with the Congolese Agency for Quality and Standardization. Another internet-connected prototype allows users to receive SMS alerts about gas leaks. A third model, also internet-connected, helps locate the house and alerts the fire department or relatives. The latest model is equipped with robotic technology capable of automatically shutting off the gas cylinder in case of a leak to prevent a fire.

In December 2022, women dominated the podium at the 4th edition of the Denis Sassou Nguesso Digital Innovation Prize. Young Congolese entrepreneur Carabine Banzouzi received first prize for her Agri-Boost solution, a device that automates irrigation, manages soil pH, and disinfects plants against insect pests. Dajora Mouyombo Mfoutou, the second female winner, developed a newborn monitoring application. Chirel Mongo, the creator of a military drone, came in third. In its "2021 Africa Tech Venture Capital" report, Partech revealed that Congolese startups successfully raised one million dollars from investment funds and other venture capital firms in 2021.
