Business travel in Douala revolves around conferences, trade shows, and fairs, which combine transportation, accommodation, and catering. The Littoral region is connected to all surrounding regions by road and rail. Douala has an independent port and an international airport, enabling it to handle large-scale visitors and goods; it is also the hub of the country's largest commercial activity. It is a prime location for business tourism, boasting several world-class business hotels.

The Yaoundé Convention Centre is a congress and entertainment centre, built on a total area of approximately 180,000 m2. Comprising numerous rooms spread over 6 floors, it hosts conferences, colloquia, seminars, workshops and cultural exhibitions.

The Yaoundé Convention Centre, built with Chinese cooperation, boasts a panoramic view of the capital. Comprising three buildings, it offers halls with capacities ranging from 25 to 2000 seats.

According to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), business tourism in Cameroon could generate a turnover of 1,068.9 billion CFA francs by 2028. Business tourism, manifested through events such as the Yaoundé International Business, SME and Partnership Fair, PROMOTE, the largest business fair in the entire sub-region, can therefore be a source of capital for the Cameroonian economy.

The electronic visa has come into effect
Seeking to streamline the visa application process and ensure secure payment of consular services, Cameroon has implemented electronic visa issuance. International travelers wishing to visit Cameroon no longer need to visit an embassy to apply for their visa. Construction of the infrastructure for issuing biometric visas is complete at the international airports of Yaoundé and Douala, while the deployment of the new secure consular services system at Cameroon's diplomatic missions, consular posts, and international airports has been operational since summer 2022.

From a security standpoint, the implementation of this new technology will centralize and protect the data recorded by the digital platform that will be created; control the flow of entries and exits into the territory through the deployment of terminals at all points of entry; and guarantee maximum security for diplomatic documents.
